Armin T. Wegner visited Armenia twice in his lifetime. His first visit took place eighty years ago in December of 1927, following his participation in the festivities in Moscow celebrating the 10th anniversary of the October Revolution. The second time, however, Wegner paid an official visit to Armenia at the invitation of Catholicos Vazgen I in 1968. This time he was decorated with the Order of Saint Gregory the Illuminator, the highest honor the Armenian nation could offer to the great humanist, and at the same time, a street in the capital city of Yerevan was renamed after him.
